VISUAL STORYTELLING

CUBA

HAVANA

When I travelled through Havana, I was drawn less to the famous landmarks and more to the rhythm of everyday life unfolding around me. I found myself chasing moments, musicians moving through crowded streets, young boxers training in worn gyms, tobacco workers surrounded by the scent of drying leaves, children watching the world from behind fences, and strangers illuminated for a split second by passing light. The city felt alive in every direction: layered with music, movement, history, and contradiction.

This body of work became my personal visual conversation with Cuba. I wanted the photographs to feel immersive and honest,  not polished postcards, but emotional fragments of what I experienced walking through Havana’s streets, homes, churches, and hidden corners. What stayed with me most was the resilience, warmth, and soul of the people I encountered. Through these images, I hope viewers can feel some of the energy, intimacy, beauty, and complexity that made Havana unforgettable to me.
